Top Ways to Celebrate Earth Day

Earth Day is just around the corner and there are many ways that you can celebrate this special day outdoors. One way to celebrate outdoors is to plant some trees, bushes, or other plants that absorb carbon dioxide in the air. Planting a garden with fruits, vegetables and herbs will give you fresh foods all summer long and it will be a fun learning activity to do with your children. Let them help water the plants also. They’ll love watching the seeds they planted grow. It may even make them more interested in eating vegetables, knowing that they planted them.

Setting up a compost bin is another great way to celebrate Earth Day outdoors. It’s easy to do and will not only reduce the amount of trash that you’re putting in a landfill but will also fertilize your backyard.

You can also volunteer to help clean up a park or even participate in a “green” charity by doing a walk or run. Some cities hold festivals, parties, or parades in the park in honor of Earth Day, so you can always check to see if you have one near you. Just enjoying the outdoors by having a picnic or going on a hike are great ways to spend time with your family and celebrate Earth Day also.

Celebrating Earth Day can be a lot of fun for the whole family. Plus, it’s a great way to teach your children about protecting the environment.
